Duration: 30 min

Taking off from the Rethymnon you will get a bird’s eyes view of one of the most charming towns of Crete. From the comfort of your helicopter seat you will get to enjoy the view of the Kournas Lake, the only freshwater lake in Crete. You will fly over the Lefka Ori (White Mountains) that occupy a large part of the centre of West Crete and are the main feature of the region.

Heading over the South Coast you will fly above the small picturesque village of Loutro which was named after the baths (Loutro or Loutra) found in the area.  The village has maintained its traditional character as it remains untouched by mass tourism. There is no road that leads here so the only way one can get here is by a ferry boat or a helicopter. The village is located in the Sfakia region, which is a mountainous area in the southwestern part of the island. The coast of Sfakia is found on the Lybian Sea and the region is crossed by many gorges, among which is the famous Samaria Gorge.

You will also pass the small mountainous village of Kalikratis that lies at the foot of Lefka Ori, which is a traditional village with many well preserved stone houses. Another village that you will see during the sightseeing helicopter flight is Asi Gonia, which was once home to many leaders. Before the end of your helicopter flight you will get a bird’s eye view of the Moundros Gorge located between the villages Moundros and Velonado. This 30 -minute helicopter sightseeing tour ends in Rethymnon.
